Fifty+ women participated in the Returners Conference on April 9th 2019 in Zug and provided valuable input on their views on what returnship programmes should offer.
The biggest takeaways
Career breaks come in all forms; there is a critical mass of women and men wishing to re-enter the labour market which calls for concerted action; there exist both structural and personal barriers to returning to the workplace; the re-integration of women and men who took long career breaks is something neither companies nor society can afford to continue to overlook; and re-launching one’s career needs a solid support structure. Most important of all, today’s conference showed participants that they are not alone. There are many highly educated professionals facing the same challenges.
Our team will be working very hard over the next few weeks to process this valuable information. Our thanks go to Rebecca Schraner who presented the Real Returns Program at Credit Suisse, Janice Mueller from PWN Zug & Zurich for partnering with us, Renate Kranenburg and Samantha Touchais for facilitating the breakout group discussions and all the talented women who joined us today.
